Shop Vintage, Save a Mint(age) – Avoiding Let Down Purchases

Last Tuesday we explored how vintage is better than buying new clothes, today, we’re going to give you some insider tips on making the right choice!

Learn the lingo:

-    Mint – As good as new
-    Near Mint – Slightest signs of wear
-    Excellent – Typical signs of wear due to occasional use
-    Very Good – Considerably wearable but has some flaws (staining, soiling, collar damage)
-    Good – Wearable but cannot be returned to excellent condition

TIP 1: Always look at photos first to check if there are any damages

TIP 2: Make sure they offer secure paying methods such as PayPal or Visa Verified (these methods ensure your details would not be stolen)

TIP 3: Make sure the measurements are similar to your own -  clothes tends to change shape after being worn for some time (and if you’re buying from the 70s they had different sizing systems altogether!), so the size it says on the label, may not be what you expect.

Have a fun time shopping!
